With Super Bowl LIV quickly approaching, the city of Miami is preparing to host the massive event for the 11th time in history. This year, Miami will be breaking their tie with New Orleans, Louisiana and will be holding the record for most Super Bowl games hosted since the very first time in 1967.

Miami is known for its amazing warm weather, which creates the perfect atmosphere for both the players and fans. The Magic City is also home to the domed Hard Rock Stadium which is capable of accommodating the multitude of people that the event brings together.

The city has set up several attractions such as Super Bowl LIVE, and the Super Bowl Fan experience at the Miami Beach Convention Center for fans to visit leading up to the actual event. Yet, Miami still has so much more to see and do! Whether you are flying in from out of state for the big game or just wanting to be a tourist in your own city, here are some of the must do-s Miami has to offer:

The Beaches

You simply cannot visit Miami without checking out our beautiful beaches. If you’re looking for more of a party atmosphere definitely head over to the South Beach/Ocean Drive area where you’ll find tons of bars and restaurants. Also, don’t forget to check out the iconic art deco architecture- a style that was super popular back in the 1930’s. One of my favorite activities to do here is rent a Citi Bike and ride along the boardwalk while taking in all the sights and sounds of this lively area.

If you’re looking for more of a quiet atmosphere head on over to Crandon Park Beach in Key Biscayne. This beach offers lots of shade, calm waters, and grassy picnic areas. Perfect for a day at the beach with the family.

The Cuban Culture

With Cuba being so close to Miami, the Cuban culture is extremely prevalent within this city. Go and check out Little Havana. Stepping into this neighborhood you’ll feel the Cuban culture come to life through the food, music, and people. My favorite go-to spots here are Azucar Ice Cream Company where you’ll find the best Cuban Ice cream selections and the most iconic food spot, Versailles Restaurant Cuban Cuisine.

The Nightlife

The party scene is a major part of the Miami lifestyle, and definitely something you won’t want to miss when visiting! You’ll find the best clubs in Miami Beach including E11EVEN MIAMI and LIV. But be prepared because cover and drinks can get really pricey in this area. Another great area to visit is the Wynwood Art District, home to hundreds of murals painted by local artists. This area also holds some of the best-and more affordable bars in Miami. Most places will be staying open until 5AM for Super Bowl weekend. My favorite spots here are Centro Wynwood and El Patio.

No day in Miami is the same. Whether you’re a first time visitor, or coming for the 10th time, there’s always something new to do in the 305!
