Food Bank at CCC Gables
The CCC Food Bank Project
The CCC Gables Food Bank has served this community for almost 20 years. Through out the years the number of families served has progressively increased. Since the beginning of the COVID-19 Pandemic this project has dramatically experienced a solid growth. CCC Gables Food Bank Project is serving approximately over a 1,000 people each month at the present time, that number is increasing every month. The growth of this project is directly connected to the COVID-19 crisis. The Miami-Dade County is the county that has been more affected by the COVID-19 in all the state of Florida. There is an extremely high percentage of unemployment and many families have been hard hit by the financial crisis. In addition to that the number of immigrants in our community is increasing every day. Hundreds of those families are participating in the Food Bank free food distribution at least two to four times a month.
Our projection is that after the COVID-19 crisis we will be able to keep the Food Bank Project operating at an optimum level providing meals to hundreds of families and thousands of individuals at least twice a month.
Organization Mission Statement:
We are a multicultural church that provides the Coral Gables community and its surroundings with a healthy environment where they can strengthen their faith, worship Jesus as a family and be discipled to grow in their walk with God and in His purpose in this world.
CCC was founded in 1927 a church with a fully bilingual and multicultural ministry. This congregation has discovered the importance of unity amidst diversity. The complex dynamics generated in a diverse community have been worked through and the result has been a congregation united by the love of Christ. We are One!
Our relationship with the Christian Church DOC has been excellent. We contribute with the Disciples Mission Fund regularly, attend events at a general, regional, and local levels, and has church members serving in different positions at all levels.
